Taco Bell to accept mobile orders
February 16 , 2014
Taco Bell is soon to launch an app for smartphones this year and begin to take orders via technology.
"Mobile is the biggest shift in QSR since the drive thru," mobile lead Jeff Jenkins said. "If you can get 10M people to download your app, you're putting a portal to Taco Bell in 10M pockets."
Instead of following something that already exists, Taco Bell chose to come out with its own system, which greets its guests and presents them the menu. Users are also given the ability to find the nearest Taco Bell and view hours, directions and pricing.
The company's chief information officer mentioned that their primary focus as of now is mobile but similar systems for tablets and desktops may be created as well.
