States ask 5-Hour energy to prove its claims
January 3 , 2014
A group of 53 states is doubtful about the claims made by 5-Hour Energy, according to which 73 percent of doctors recommend it and you don't fall asleep after it peps you up. The states are not even sure if it's recommended for teenagers and the Oregon Department of Justice has asked the companies responsible for the drink to prove that these claims are true.
The companies - Living Essentials, Innovative Ventures and Microdose sales, provided some details in April of 2013 but some of the details including the drink's ingredients were redacted. The Oregon is now asking for the full story after the companies managed to keep all the information secret.
The investigation began when FDA came out with the fact that it had close to one hundred reports of adverse incidents related to the drink.
