State of the Union: Obama unveils 'middle-class economics'
January 21 , 2015
The US President Barack Obama promised to focus on economic policies in his last two remaining years in office that will benefit all Americans, especially the middle class, in his annual State of the Union address to Congress on Tuesday night, January 20.
Labeling his vision "middle-class economics," a confident and assertive Obama, who took swipes at the Republicans, said the administration and Congress had to make a choice about “who we want to be over the next 15 years.”
However, the president’s plans, such as free community colleges and a hike in certain taxes, are likely to run into trouble in the Republican-controlled Congress, media reports say.
