Starbucks to settle dispute with Kraft
November 14 , 2013
Starbucks is expected to pay $2.76B in order to settle a dispute regarding coffee distribution with Kraft.
Kraft has been fighting with Starbucks for over three years after it was fired by the company as its packaged coffee distributor to grocery chains. According to Starbucks, the company had failed to work closely on customer contacts as well as marketing decisions.
Mondelez International, which is the snack side of Kraft, will receive $2.23B in damages and $527M in attorney fees. Starbucks doesn't agree with the conclusion but continues to believe that firing Kraft was a good idea. The company is glad that the legal battle has come to an end.
