South Korea's growth hits six-year low
January 23 , 2015
South Korea’s economic growth has hit a six-year low, according to the revealed data.
The economy expanded 0.4% in the October-December period compared to the previous quarter growth of 0.9%.
The 2.7% fourth quarter growth compared to the previous year was also lower than market forecasts.
Experts say growth in Asia’s fourth largest economy has been hampered by a fall in exports and infrastructure spending.
Economists believe that the latest data could nudge the central bank into cutting interest rates.
