South African economic growth weakens to 0.9 percent

South Africa's economic growth weakened to 0.9 percent in the first three months of the year, according to official data released on Tuesday.
During the same period last year, the country’s economy grew by 1.9 percent.
The slowdown has raised concerns over Africa's biggest economy.
Last year, South Africa’s economy grew by 2.5 percent.
The country has been struggling following a recession in 2009. In addition, recent strikes in the mining sector and a drop in production in the petroleum sector have also hit growth.
