Silver is not the world's top car color anymore

Perhaps people match their car colors to their Apple gadgets these days. That could be one reason for white being the new top color for cars.
Silver was the reigning color for over a decade but a quarter of buyers now prefer white over silver and black, which are tied together on No. 2 position.
Gray has taken the fourth place.
Although, automakers only choose about eight to 10 colors for new cars, four of which are always white, black, silver and gray, variety can still be seen.
Automakers continue to seek ways to create variations of the four standard colors that "are specific to their brands and that compliment different vehicle types," a PPG industries exec said.
