Samsung forecasts 25% dip in profit

  • Samsung has forecasted a 25% dip in profit for the second quarter. The drop is being attributed to a strong Korean currency and decline in the smartphone market.

The mobile phone maker expects a profit of 7.2 trillion won in the period of April-June, compared to 9.5 trillion won a year before.

The South Korean company is the world’s biggest maker of mobiles phones, with the handset division accounting for most of its profits.
