Sales of new products 'disappointing'; Twitter's revenues hit

  • Twitter has posted revenues of $436 million for the first three months of 2015, an increase of 74% from the same period last year, but lower than expectations.

The micro blogging company said that the sales of its new products did not meet expectations, adding that it expected the negative effect on revenue to be felt through the financial year.

Chief executive Dick Costolo said that it was “still early days” for the new products.

Meanwhile, Twitter has posted a net quarterly loss of $162 million.
