Sales of KFC owner Yum Brands in China continue to disappoint

  • Sales of American fast food firm Yum Brands have fallen for the fourth straight quarter as its business in China continues to take a hit.

The company owns major brands such as KFC and Pizza Hut.

Sales at its China same-stores dropped by 10%, which was steeper than expected.

Its global revenues dropped 3% to $3.1 billion in the three months ending June 13.

A tainted meat scandal in China and customers’ changing preference for healthier alternatives have affected Yum sales.
