August 7 , 2014
Russia has banned agricultural good imports from nations that have put sanctions on it, as per media reports.
A list of raw materials and agricultural products from the west will be restricted or banned for up to 12 months. The decree from Kremlin also tells Russian officials to introduce measures for stabilizing commodity markets and check any rise in food prices.
Russia is the second biggest market in Europe for food and drink. It has been a significant consumer of pig meat from Poland and fruits and vegetables from the Netherlands.
