Reintroduced 'chicken fries' boost Burger King sales

  • Burger King says the enthusiastic response to the reintroduced "chicken fries" on its menu has played a role in increased second quarter sales, which beat expectations. Restaurants that have been open for at least a year recorded a 6.7% rise in global sales.

    Introduction of new burgers, special offers and improvements in stores have also helped the sales figures, according to Restaurant Brands, Burger King's parent firm. Meanwhile, profit at Restaurant Brands for the second quarter touched $9.6 million.
