Red Bull accused of killing healthy man
October 29 , 2013
Cory Terry drank a can of Red Bull after playing basketball for about 45 minutes and died of a heart attack.
The 33-year-old's grandmother said he was a healthy man and the family is suing Red Bull for $85M, claiming the energy-drink maker killed him.
An autopsy revealed that Terry died due to idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy but it's not clear if Red Bull was the primary cause of it. His grandmother mentioned that Terry drank Red Bull often and said it "perked him up." The family's lawyer contends the beverage differs from coffee and is "more dangerous than what Red Bull lets on."
Although, there are many health issues related to the energy drink, this case is said to be wrongfully filed against the company.
