Playing with Barbies could be harmful for girls

Fast Company reports that little girls who play with Barbie dolls lower their career options. A new study reveals that those who played with the dowdy potato during the research ended up believing that they could follow any career they wanted to. However, girls who played with any of the Barbie dolls lowered options for themselves.
"Something about the type of doll, not characteristics of the participants, causes the difference in career aspirations," study co-author Aurora Sherman said. Authors note that girls end up forming their own ideas about gender roles through Barbies and writer Carey Dunne stated that the poor doll should be given some room for a liver if further research solidly revealed its negative influence on girls.
