Pilot strike cost Air France 500mn euros

  • Last month’s strike by pilots will cost Air France about €500m, the carrier has estimated. This would include an immediate revenue loss of more than 320 euros, the airlines said.

Pilots were objecting to Air France’s plans to expand Transavia, its budget subsidiary.

The total passenger traffic was down by 15.9% in September, with bookings for the subsequent three months also falling.

The Transavia expansion plans have been put on hold and the airlines will hold talks with the pilots.
