PepsiCo removes 'racist' commercial
May 2 , 2013
PepsiCo removed a commercial deemed as racist on Wednesday.
The American soft drinks firm apologized for the ad, saying it took "full responsibility" for any offence caused.
The commercial drew criticism for depicting racial stereotypes and violence against women.
The online ad for Mountain Dew shows a beaten up white woman on crutches identifying a suspect out of a police line-up made up of black men and a goat.
The ad was developed by African-American rapper Tyler the Creator, who has in the past been criticized for his controversial lyrics.
