New research shows that people have begun spending an increasing amount of time playing games on smartphones and tablets. Reports suggest that those above 13 years of age spend over six hours each week on games, which is a 12 percent increase from 2012.
Moreover, serious video game players have also started to use their smartphones and tablets for games; the numbers have increased significantly since 2012.
"With these 8th generation consoles still in their infancy, in addition to up-and-coming platforms such as microconsoles and cloud gaming gaining momentum, gaming time is poised to continue evolving moving forward," a statement accompanying the report says.
