No change in growth of world economy
October 8 , 2014
The world economy will grow by 3.3% this year, showing little change from the last two years, the IMF has said in its new forecast, down from the 3.7% growth it had predicted in its July forecast.
Describing the world growth as “mediocre”, the IMF has also cut down its 2015 forecast.
Expectations of growth are being lowered as Europe’s unemployment remains high and advanced economies’ debt rises. These factors affect “confidence, demand and growth”, the IMF said.
