Netflix doubles profits with rising subscriptions

  • Streaming video firm Netflix has reported benefit of $71m in the second quarter, which is more than double the figures for the same period last year. 

    Revenue from its streaming content service increased by around 50% to $1.2bn from last year’s $837m, the company said in a statement.  

    The online video service company has added 1.69 million viewers from March to June, it said. Netflix now has around 50 million users spread across more than 40 countries.
