McDonald's teaches its workers tipping etiquette

  • As fast food employees rally and demand for higher pay in 100 cities this week, McDonald's put together some holiday tip suggestions for its employees.

These now-deleted suggestions were posted on the company's employee resource list and added up to over a hundred dollars, which is a lot considering that these workers earn just over the minimum wage. A McDonald's rep said the content was provided by one of the most well-known etiquette guru named Emily Post. "We continue to review the resource and will ask the vendor to make changes as needed."

Meanwhile, union-backed groups such as Fast Food Forward made it possible for workers to be paid for the day if they walked off the job.
