McDonald's not tied to Heinz ketchup anymore
October 27 , 2013
McDonald's has cut ties with Heinz after 40 years so nobody eating at the fast-food restaurant will be dipping their fries in the ketchup company's product again.
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that a lot of Americans won't notice the change since the company used Heinz ketchup only at two markets in the country - One of them was Pittsburgh, where the ketchup company is based and the other one was Minneapolis.
The same might not be true in other countries since McDonald's served Heinz ketchup overseas.
"As a result of recent management changes at Heinz, we have decided to transition our business to other suppliers over time," the company said.
Burger King is still loyal to Heinz and continues to serves its ketchup in 80 percent of its stores.
