January 29 , 2015
McDonald's Chief Executive Don Thompson has stepped down as the firm struggles with a decreasing customer base in the United States, according to media reports. The firm has recently reported depressing results.
The current chief brand officer of the company Steve Easterbrook will take over as the new boss in March.
Thompson, who was at the helm for two and a half years and spent a quarter of a century in McDonald's, said in a media release that it was “tough to say goodbye.”
