Manchester United reports £2.9mn loss as broadcasting, matchday revenues fall

  • Manchester United has posted a loss of £2.9 million in the first quarter of this year compared to a profit of £11 million in the same period in 2014.

    While quarterly broadcasting revenue was down 39%, matchday sales dropped 31.3%.

    Meanwhile, United's debt burden increased by 12.4% in the January-to-March period to £395.4 million.

    However, on the positive side, the club expects to make between £103 million and £110 million in the year ending June 2015 instead of the previous forecast of £90-95 million.
