Lufthansa strike results in flight cancellations

  • German airline Lufthansa has been forced to cancel the majority of its flights scheduled for today due to a strike over pay.

Only 20 of its planned 1,650 short-haul flights are to take off, along with 12 of its 73 scheduled long-haul flights.

The German airports affected are Frankfurt, Munich, Dusseldorf and Hamburg.

According to the airline, the strike, which is the second in just as many months, was uncalled for.
