Kraft mac and cheese to become less artificial
November 3 , 2013
Kraft mac and cheese is about to remove the artificial dyes from the kid-friendly shaped "mac" and hence, become slightly less artificial.
Spices such as paprika will enable the end result to be yellow and the original flavor of mac and cheese won't see any change.
These offerings are expected to start selling by next year and will also include less sodium, saturated fat and more whole grains.
Vani Hari started a petition on Change.org asking for the company to get rid of yellow dye 5 and yellow dye 6. "I knew all along that it wasn't going to be an overnight change," she said. Hari noted that the UK recipes don't use these dyes and taste almost the same.
The company, however, claims her petition had nothing to do with this decision.
