Katharine Viner to take over as editor-in-chief of The Guardian

The Guardian newspaper is all set to get its first female editor-in-chief. Katharine Viner, who is currently the editor-in-chief of the broadsheet's New York-based US website, will takeover in summer from Alan Rusbridger. Viner, who joined The Guardian in 1997, has worked as the deputy editor as well as the editor of the paper’s Saturday edition. Viner, who is the 11th editor of the premier newspaper in 194 years, has also worked as the editor of its G2 supplement.
