John Kerry calls for stronger trade ties between US and India

  • John Kerry, the US secretary of state, has called for stronger trade ties between the United States and India at a global investor meet in the western Indian state of Gujarat, according to media reports.

Kerry’s comments have set the ball rolling for the US President Barack Obama's Republic Day visit to India later this month.

Kerry said stronger US-India economic ties would not only give a boost to India’s growth, but also help fight climate change.
