Auto giant Jaguar Land Rover has recalled more than 36,000 sport utility vehicles in China. According to media reports, the company took the decision following state television aired consumer complaints over its gearboxes. The recall has affected its Range Rover Evoque SUVs; however, the company has said that the warranty on the affected vehicles gearboxes will be extended. The television show, which accused the UK-based company of not responding to consumer complaints, also targeted other foreign car makers. Nissan, Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz' joint ventures in China were accused in the show of charging higher than the normal amount at its service stations. The companies have since apologized.
