IMF's Christine Lagarde extends support to China-led AIIB

  • The International Monetary Fund (IMF) would be delighted to cooperate with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), the IMF head Christine Lagarde has said.

Lagarde mentioned infrastructure financing as an area with “massive” scope for cooperation with the China-led AIIB that has over 30 members.

While countries such as the UK, Germany and France have backed the venture, which was set up by China last year, the US has not been very enthusiastic about the AIIB’s ambitions.
