Homeless man wins $2.8M

  • This story sounds more like a fantasy: An unemployed alcoholic was left with his last coins when he decided to invest in a lottery ticket.

"I had only picked six numbers and the female shop assistant reminded me that I needed to pick a seventh," he said. "I told her to make it 24 - it doesn't matter, anyway." Apparently it did matter considering that he managed to win 2.8M.

The 55-year-old man bought a new mode of transportation and paid his debts. He's now planning on going for a trip to Italy and using his money to help others. Lazlo Andraschek's fortune wasn't noticed until he made a big donation to a homeless shelter. "I have become rich, but i have not become a different person," he said.
