Hastings stumps against Comcast

  • Netflix CEO Reed Hastings spoke about Comcast at the Code Conference and accused it of wanting to turn into the post office by merging with Time Warner Cable.

Comcast CEO Brian Roberts mentioned at the same stage that Netflix doesn't want to deal with the costs of the Internet traffic generated by its subscribers.

"They used to spend three-quarters of a billion dollars for postage," he said.

USA Today notes that the merger would give Comcast a 40 percent control over the Internet broadband and majority of the cable market in the nation.
