March 8 , 2013
Greece's jobless rate fell to 26.4 percent in December from a revised 26.6 percent compared to the previous month, the country's statistics service ELSTAT said on Thursday.
It was the highest unemployment rate in the euro zone for that month, and more than double the bloc's average unemployment rate of 11.8 percent.
An estimated one million Greeks have lost their jobs since the start of the recession in late 2008.
Only 3.7 million people are employed out of a population of nearly 11 million.
