Greece: Former PMs urge people to vote 'yes' in referendum
July 3 , 2015
Greece’s former prime ministers have urged people to vote ‘yes’ in Sunday’s referendum, which may decide the country's future within Europe.
Costas Karamanlis, the former conservative leader, appealed to Greeks to vote in favor of remaining part of the “European family”. He said a ‘yes’ vote was important not only for economic and social reasons but also reasons of national security.
Karamanlis said a ‘no’ vote would be “interpreted by the whole world” as withdrawing from the “heart of Europe.”
