Greece debt crisis: Finance minister Varoufakis accuses lenders of 'terrorism'
July 5 , 2015
Yanis Varoufakis, the Greek finance minister, has accused the country’s international lenders of “terrorism” ahead of the crucial bailout referendum, which may determine whether Greek will remain a part of the euro.
Stepping up the attack on creditors and urging Greeks to vote ‘no’ on Sunday, Varoufakis told the Spanish El Mundo daily that the troika intended to “instill fear” in people.
The finance minister, however, indicated that Greece would reach a deal with lenders even if the outcome was ‘no’.
