Greece debt crisis: Emergency summit of eurozone leaders on June 21
June 19 , 2015
Leaders from the eurozone will hold an emergency meeting on Monday after Thursday's talks over the Greek debt crisis also ended in failure.
Jeroen Dijsselbloem, the Eurogroup head, warned that “no agreement” was yet in sight and “very little” time remained to clinch a deal. If Greece cannot reach an agreement with its lenders, it will default on an existing loan within two weeks.
Greece’s prime minister Alexis Tsipras, however, struck an optimistic note, saying a solution will be found based on “respecting EU rules and democracy.”
