Greece Debt crisis: Deal in sight, says Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras

  • Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has said that talks in Brussels on his country’s debt crisis had been “constructive” and he believed that a deal “is in sight”.

But Tsipras, who leads a far-left government, said that Greece had rejected some of the proposals put on the table by international creditors.

Jeroen Dijsselbloem, the Eurogroup chief, described the talks between Tsipras and European Commission head Jean-Claude Juncker as “very good.”

Greece and its creditors need to thrash out a new bailout arrangement before the end of this month.
