Germany passes minimum wage bill

  • Germany’s lawmakers have passed a bill to introduce a national minimum wage for the first time.

From the beginning of next year, all employers in Germany must pay a minimum of 8.50 euros per hour.

The new measure comes as a huge relief to four million German workers. Of the workers who will benefit from this, nearly two-thirds are women, according to the German government.

    Germany is Europe’s leading economy.
