German metal fan suffers blood clot after headbanging

  • A 50-year-old German man developed a blood clot after frequent headbanging at a rock concert, a report published in Lancet magazine has revealed.

Doctors said they treated the man for brain injury, but added that the risk to headbanging fans was very small. This was the fourth such documented case linked to headbanging.

The patient had no history of head injuries. A scan showed a brain bleed, and doctors had to drill a hole for draining the blood.
