German businesses concerned over possible UK exit from EU

  • The German Chambers of Commerce and Industry has expressed concern over a possible British exit from the EU, saying such a move would be “disastrous” for both the UK and Germany.

The deputy chief executive of the group Volker Treier told the BBC that businesses in Germany were “astonished” that Britain was planning an EU referendum.

Treier said that he was opposed to any concessions offered to the UK as the two countries negotiate over UK’s future in Europe.
