Gambler sues Las Vegas casino after losing $500k

  • A California man is suing the Downtown Grand casino in Las Vegas after losing $500k over Super Bowl weekend.

"I feel like they picked my pockets," Mark Johnston said. "I feel like they took a drunk guy ... like a drunk guy walked down the street, and you reach in his pockets and grab all his money." The casino loaned the man money but there was a stop-payment order on the place and his lawyer noted that the casino will now come after him.

Casinos in Nevada aren't allowed to let a drunk people gamble and they're prohibited from serving them complimentary drinks as well. Johnston mentioned that he was blacked out and was invited to the casino by a host. His lawyer noted that he couldn't even read the cards given how drunk he was.

Investigations by the Gambling Control Board are ongoing and Johnston is seeking damages since the casino affected his reputation.
