Fresh air sells for $860 in China

  • Beijing artist Liang Kegang got back from a business trip in France and brought with him a glass jar of clean air. The man put the jar up for auction, which fetched him $860. 

    The ordinary jar has a rubber seal along with three small paper labels, indicating where Liang closed the jar. 

    The artist's work is part of the protest that reflects the dissatisfaction over the bad air quality in the nation. A group of 20 artists in Beijing also lay on the ground a played dead for a performance art protest back in February. 

    Recycling tycoon Chen Guangbiao, has been selling cans of fresh air for $3 each.
