Four Loko to stop marketing on campus
March 27 , 2014
The makers of Four Loko have decided on new marketing rules due to the controversy regarding the combination of caffeine and alcohol.
San Francisco and 20 states held that the company was marketing alcohol to those under the ages of 21 and hadn't made it clear what the risks of mixing booze and caffeine were.
The new restrictions reportedly forbid Phusian from promoting on college campuses or using their names while marketing. Moreover, those appearing in Four Loko marketing are now required to be at least 25. The company is also paying $400k for the costs of the case as well as supporting the fight against underage drinking.
