Female CFOs serve on Fortune 500 boards
July 17 , 2013
Female chief financial officers still make up only 12 per cent of the positions among Fortune 500 companies. However, a recent report showed that 6 per cent of those women are also directors outside their companies.
According to the Wall Street Journal, although these women wouldn't serve on their own company's boards, it is now known that they are three times as likely to do the same outside their companies as compared to the males. WSJ also reports that female CFOs have become more commonplace on Wall Street than they were 20 years ago. Despite this, women executives are still much less in number than male CFOs.
