Feds to stop seizing some tax refunds
April 16 , 2014
Tax day is already miserable for hundreds of thousands of people in America and seizing tax refunds from people who are being forced to pay on behalf of their parents, didn't make it any better.
The Social Security Administration mentioned that it would stop collecting debts that are older than 10 years. The decision is "pending a thorough review of our responsibility and discretion under the current law," acting Social Security commissioner Carolyn Colvin said.
He also mentioned that those who think they are being accessed incorrectly should speak with the agency.
