Ex-Goldman employee's memoir due to released in October

  • Greg Smith, the former Goldman Sachs employee who announced his resignation from the investment bank in a damning op-ed in March, has written a memoir due to be published next month, according to a report in the New York Times.

Why I Left Goldman Sachs is set for publication on October 22.

Smith quit as an executive director after writing an op-ed in the Times on March 14.

In the piece, he accused the firm of ripping off clients and revealed that top management had turned Goldman into a "toxic and destructive" environment.

Smith's book is based on his 12-year career at the bank and likely to delve into how Goldman operates.
