Eurozone parliaments give green signal to Greece bailout talks
July 18 , 2015
Parliaments of eurozone countries have given their backing to Greece’s third bailout, paving the way for formal talks between the Greek government and international lenders.
Germany’s parliament gave its approval after an impassioned debate. It voted 439 to 119 in favor of starting negotiations on the €86 billion bailout, with 40 MPs abstaining.
Greece will also get a €7 billion bridging loan by Monday, which will help it make some crucial debt repayments.
Meanwhile, Greece’s prime minister Alexis Tsipras has reshuffled his cabinet.
