EU extends sanctions against Russia over 'destabilizing role' in Ukraine
June 23 , 2015
The EU has extended sanctions against Russia for its “destabilizing role” in eastern Ukraine.
In a statement, the EU said that the decision to extend the economic sanctions till January was taken by foreign ministers of the bloc during a meeting in Luxembourg.
Responding to the move, Russia extended its own ban on agricultural products from EU.
Russia’s foreign ministry said that it was “deeply disappointed” that the views of the “Russophobic lobby” had prevailed in the EU.
