EU exit could cost UK economy 2.2% of GDP: Study
March 24 , 2015
A new study has warned that if the UK were to leave the EU, it could cost the British economy up to 2.2% of the GDP by 2030.
But this worst-case scenario could be avoided if the country manages a free-trade agreement with Europe and pursues “very ambitious” deregulation, the study by the Open Europe think-tank says.
Open Europe is in favor of significant reforms in the EU.
A referendum in the UK within the next three years might decide if the country stays in the EU or opts out.
