Etihad Airways profits triple

  • Abu Dhabi's Etihad Airways has seen its full-year profits triple.

    On Monday, the airline posted net profits of $42 million for 2012, up from $14 million in 2011.

    Revenues increased 17 percent from $4.1 billion to $4.8 billion, while passenger numbers surpassed 10 million for the first time.

    Etihad has stakes in Air Seychelles, Air Berlin, Virgin Australia and Aer Lingus. The partner airlines contributed 19 percent of passenger revenues.
