Economic growth slows down by 0.1 %
May 1 , 2014
There was a drastic slowdown in the US economy during the first three months of this year since the harsh winter didn't do much for business activity.
However, the sharp slowdown appears to have been temporary since growth looks normal with the arrival of warmer weather. Reports suggest that the growth of the economy only slowed down by 0.1 percent annual rate in the Jan-March quarter.
The Commerce Department said it's the weakest pace since 2012 but economists expected a rise by 1.1 percent.
